Varying Electricity Prices over the Decade

Sam Graham |

Over the past ten years, prices of solar and wind-powered electricity have drastically declined. This is due to the operating costs of renewable plants consisting mostly of technology. As our understanding of the technology improves, we become more efficient and thus, renewable energy sources are becoming the cheaper option. In addition, you can see in this same time frame gas, coal, and other energy sources have not followed suit in the drastic price declines.

It is inevitable that this is becoming the future of energy use across the world. Even after taking cost out of the equation, renewable energy resources replenish more quickly and don’t produce the unhealthy by-products like air pollution that come with fossil fuels. Ultimately, renewable energy is more sustainable over time while keeping costs low and most importantly, allowing people to breathe in safer and cleaner air.
